Why I chose a Plant-Based diet

When I was about 1 year old my parents decided to become vegetarians and so they raised me in the way of basically not feeding me meat. At home, we would never have a single piece of meat so I never consumed any meat. Until I was about 17 years old I tried few things like ham, sausage, tuna, and some chicken wings I believe it was for the first time. At that age, you're just curious. But honestly, it wasn't something I would consider delicious. To me, a piece of meat on a plate always looked like something innocent that used to live a happy and fulfilling life but then had to suffer and die for no reason whatsoever.

Then around June of 2018, I came across a youtube commercial. It was a 30min-ish speech by @earthlinged and it immediately opened my eyes. Even though I wasn't consuming meat my whole life I was still eating eggs and dairy products which I had no clue of the back story of how these products are produced and how much suffering they cause to animals even though they are not being killed for meat alone these animals still suffer and live in very bad conditions. And I have a true and deep love for animals that I just don't want to be a part of anything that causes them harm of any kind.

Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chance for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet

Believe it or not but the human body has no need for animal products and no need for processed food. There are many societies around the world that are living proof of this fact. Once I've had learned that a plant-based diet was not only healthy but the healthiest way to eat. I have realized that the choice to eat the food that caused the most destruction and suffering, was a choice of conditioning and pleasure rather than a choice of necessity. We don't need animal products to be healthy.

There's no reason to ever consume meat, cheese, milk, or eggs. It's 2021 everybody, and there are hundreds of DELICIOUS substitutions for literally every single one of those animal products that nowadays it is so easy to be vegan! Eating animals and their secretions for food is unsustainable, unhealthy, inhumane, and 100% unnecessary. There's not even ONE essential nutrient found in animal products that cannot be derived from plants. I honestly do not consider animal products food. It doesn't belong in our bodies. I never ate them and I'll never will. I'll stick to plants, where not only am I living healthfully, I am thriving.

WHAT YOU PUT IN YOUR BODY OVER YOUR LIFETIME WILL HAVE A FAR GREATER IMPACT ON YOUR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH.

Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food

So it became a huge life choice for me. Was pleasuring my taste buds by eating melty cheese pizza or an omelette more important than an animal's life or more important than keeping our world healthy for future generations? My answer is NO! It's just a no-brainer for me!

Whatever you believe right now, it is important to think consciously about your choices. The everyday choices we make and the lifestyle we live has an impact on either an animals that are here with us not for us, our health, or the environment. That's why I choose to live more consciously and leave a positive impact on this world.
